Designer

Patricia Hernández was raised in the San Francisco Bay area and is currently based in Oakland, CA. She received her Bachelors of Architecture at NewSchool of Architecture and Design in San Diego and is the Co-Director of International Interior Design Association (IIDA) - East Bay City Center. Having 8 years of professional design experience, she spent 6 of those years growing into a senior interior designer at Gensler San Francisco and Gensler Oakland.

Patricia is a Dreamer under DACA, an immigration law passed by the 2013 administration that protects immigrant youth who were brought into the U.S as children. It gives them the opportunity to work in the United States but does not provide a path to citizenship. Patricia is not allowed to travel outside of the US or vote in any local, state or congressional election.

Because of her immigrant background, Patricia brings a diverse perspective to design. She is passionate about color, texture, and scale, and is constantly inspired by nature. She expresses her creativity through jewelry making, photography, painting, floral design, and by simply just making shit!

Patricia is not only passionate about design, but also about giving back to her community. During the COVID-19 pandemic Patricia was one of the 30 million people laid off. During this time of reflection, HerWorksSF was born. HerWorksSF was created as a platform for the artist to express herself through different mediums and support causes she deeply believes in.
